Halloween was last week, so I decided to pick up trash on Flying Fish. Every year, many people come to the street for candy and to see the haunted houses. Of course, this means that there would be candy wrappers all over the street. Credit to the community, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but there was still a lot of wrappers nevertheless. There was a lot of melted candy on the sidewalks and roads, which I picked up. The melted candy is very toxic for other animals like dogs, and we need to realize that our actions as simple as dropping candy can have dire consequences.
For other trash, I found a cracked wine bottle with jagged edges, which again, can be dangerous for animals if they poke their head there, and a lot of pamphlets for advertising in drains.
